Mechanical Repairs & Alignment

Our mechanical team focuses on the work that keeps a vehicle tracking straight and riding well: four-wheel computerized alignment, suspension component repair, and frame measurement and light frame straightening. It is the natural companion to our collision, tire, and body work, so the geometry under your vehicle is right when you drive away.

Mechanical repairs and alignment for Calgary roads

Calgary roads are hard on the geometry of a vehicle. A bad pothole on Glenmore in spring, a curb tap in a snow-covered lot, or a hard rail bump on Stoney Trail can knock alignment out, bend a control arm, or twist a subframe just enough to show up as uneven tire wear, a vibration at highway speed, or a steering wheel that no longer sits centred. Our mechanical team focuses on exactly that: the alignment, suspension, and frame work that keeps a vehicle tracking straight and riding the way it should.

We run a full four-wheel computerized alignment on a level rack, measuring camber, caster, and toe and adjusting to the manufacturer's specifications for your vehicle. When suspension components are worn or damaged, we diagnose and replace struts, shocks, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, and bushings, and we recheck alignment after the parts are in. New tires, lift kits, lowering springs, and any work that changes ride height get the same treatment so the geometry matches what the vehicle is now sitting on.

Frame measurement is where mechanical and collision overlap. After a hard impact, a heavy curb hit, or visible damage that does not seem to add up, we put the vehicle on our measuring system and compare every reference point against factory tolerances. Where the frame has shifted within range of straightening, we correct it. Where structural damage calls for a full collision frame repair, we say so. Mechanical service is available across our Calgary locations on all makes and models. Book online or request an estimate, and we will tell you what your vehicle actually needs.

Mechanical Repairs & Alignment: frequently asked questions

Do you do engine and transmission work too?

Our focus is the mechanical work that affects how a vehicle rides, tracks, and steers: alignment, suspension, frame measurement, and steering service. We do not take on engine rebuilds, transmission overhauls, or major drivetrain work, which keeps us sharp on what we do best. If your vehicle needs work outside our scope, we will tell you straight and point you in the right direction.

How do I know if I need a wheel alignment?

Common signs are uneven or rapid tire wear, the vehicle pulling to one side on a flat straight road, a steering wheel that sits off-centre when you are tracking straight, or a noticeable change in handling after hitting a pothole or curb. New tires, suspension work, and any change in ride height are also good reasons to align. If you are not sure, a quick inspection and measurement will tell you.

What does frame measurement and straightening involve?

We mount the vehicle on a measuring system that compares reference points across the frame or unibody against the manufacturer's factory tolerances. Where the frame has shifted within a correctable range, we use targeted pulls and adjustments to bring it back to spec. Where the structure is damaged beyond light correction, that crosses into our collision frame repair territory and we treat it accordingly. The measurement itself is also useful as a diagnostic step after a hard hit, even when nothing looks obviously bent.

Can a Calgary pothole really bend my frame, or just a rim?

A bad pothole hit usually shows up first as a bent rim or a damaged tire, but a hard enough impact can also tweak control arms, subframes, and steering geometry. If your vehicle has not tracked straight or felt right since a pothole or curb hit, it is worth a proper alignment check and, if needed, a frame measurement. Catching it early prevents premature tire wear and bigger suspension repairs down the road.

Will you align my vehicle after I install new tires, springs, or a lift?

Yes. New tires, lowering springs, lift kits, and any suspension work change the geometry the vehicle is sitting on, so a proper alignment afterwards is the right call. We align to the manufacturer's spec for the configuration the vehicle is now in and verify with a road test.

Is alignment usually covered after collision or tire work?

After a collision, alignment is almost always part of restoring the vehicle to pre-loss condition and is handled inside the claim. After tire installation it is normally a separate service rather than included with the install, though we will always tell you up front and quote it before any work starts.
