Our founder, Arik Hasson, grew up in the trade. His father owned and managed collision and vehicle repair shops, and Arik would spend
Saturdays at the shop watching the work. After serving overseas in the military and coming back to Canada, he started by buying, selling,
and repairing cars himself, which is how he found his way into the collision repair trade.
In 2008 he opened his first shop on 72 Avenue Southeast under the banner Ultimate Fixx Auto Repair, a small place serving
customers on a very low scale. Word travelled. Over the next decade the shop grew into a 10,000-square-foot collision and auto body centre
with eleven staff, including three licensed Red Seal collision repair technicians, and the kind of insurance relationships that come from
doing the work properly, repeatedly, for years.
In 2019, Arik attended Simplicity Car Care's Calgary Road Show and met the network's leadership. "They had a similar mindset," he told Autosphere later. "Collision shop operators who knew and understood the pressures and challenges we face in the industry." We joined Simplicity as the
19th shop in the network. Today Ultimate Car Care Group runs three Simplicity Car Care franchisee shops across Calgary, all under the
same ownership and the same standard.
